Trance News Roundup (2014/week49)

OK, folks. Here we go with a brand new feature of this blog. My “Trance News Roundup” is – as the name suggests – meant to be a brief link collection keeping you up-to-date about what’s going on in the Trance scene.

The Thrillseekers remix competition
Unless you’re new to the game of Trance music, everybody knows The Thrillseekers. Steve Helstrip is the man behind the project who produced such anthems as “Synaesthesia”. For his new release “Find You” he has started a remix competition. So, if you want to remix a track which might be a classic in few years’ time, this is your chance! All information about the competition is available over Steve’s website.

Jaytech has something to offer
It’s December, it’s Christmas time (as the temperatures indicate – we even had some snow this week in Germany!). That means some people are in the mood of delivering you with presents. As does Berlin-based producer Jaytech who announced to have some special offers and freebies until the 25th of December. I guess you should consider checking out his Facebook page to make sure you won’t miss anything…

A book for vinyl junkies
If you’re one of those oldschool DJs (like me) who started with vinyl records and you still love and collect them, this book should be interesting for you: It’s called “Vinyl: The Analog Record in the Digital Age” and deals with the phenomena how an analogue medium could survive for such a long time and still be present. Even if you are from the digital base, you might want to risk a look as this book also contains insights about the electronic music culture of New York, London, Tokyo, Melbourne and Berlin.
