About

About the radio show
The Magic Flight is a monthly trance radio show on the German radio station „Radio Darmstadt“. The 2-hour-show is broadcasted every third Thursday within each month at 9 PM CEST.
Although focusing on trance and progressive, music is regarded beyond its stylistic boundaries. This is why I’m reaching out to interview artists who have brought new impulses into the genre such as songwriters like Eric Lumiere or David Berkeley. The idea is to present you inspiring artists and their stories behind the songs.
Nevertheless, I also try to let the music speak by itself. In my intro DJ mix I present you my favorite trance and progressive tunes, whereas in the second part of the show a guest DJ takes over control. The challenge for me is to keep the right balance between music and information.

About the blog
This weblog is supplementary to the radio show. On this page you can find the interviews and playlists from the shows, plus my personal DJ charts as well as reviews of the newest records. Every now and then, I write about a topic which appears interesting to me though.

About me
Not only being moderator but a DJ (alias name: DoBra) as well, I am always looking for new and innovative music. I started DJing back in 2004 with vinyl only; it was not until 2011 that I integrated CDs into my mixes as well. Even though, I mainly mix with CDs nowadays, vinyl is some kind of love relation to me.
Music has always been an integral part of my life; I guess it started as early as in the belly of my mother. In my first years as a small boy, I listened to everything being played on the radio which was mainly the rock and pop music from the 80s and 90s. Within the 90s, I am more and more fascinated about electronic in general. In the late 90s I listened to the first trance tracks by Cosmic Gate or Blank & Jones and been totally hooked ever since. From 2000 on I discovered more and more artists like Armin van Buuren or Above & Beyond. Nevertheless, I always kept being open-minded to every kind of music – be it rock, pop, classical music or what so ever.
Besides listening and enjoying music, I also love producing music and sounds in terms of sound design for movies, animations, games, jingles or trailers. And I’m passionate about synth programming.
