Trance News Roundup (2014/week50)

This week’s link collection is rather a DANCE news roundup than a TRANCE news roundup as it contains only 50% Trance-related content. I hope you enjoy reading it anyway.

Talla celebrates 30 years of TC
You think Christmas is the only big event during the following days? Nope. You’re wrong. On the 28th of December, Frankfurt’s Trance legend Talla 2XLC celebrates “30 Years of Technoclub” with a massive line-up – bigger than any roast goose you can imagine. With DJs like DJ Dag, Kai Tracid, Sunbeam, Rank 1, RAM, Jorn van Deynhoven and many others playing that night, one thing is for sure: If you happen to be around the FFM-area during that time, you have to stop by.

A list of strange videos
Decoded Magazine has published an article called “We pick 10 of the most influential and strangest music videos of all time”. Well, yes, I think the title speaks for itself. It’s an interesting read and the videos are worth watching – even though you can’t find any Trance artists in there… ;-)

Yet another stupid DJ ranking?
Speaking about lists and DJ rankings: No, not that one. The list that I’m referring to is solely based on facts and numbers (or at least I think it is). The Mixmag has released a list showing the most shazam’d artists in 2014. Not surprisingly, you can find Avicii, David Guetta and Calvin Harris in this ranking. It would be more interesting, though, to find out whether the verb “(to) shazam” does already exist in the dictionary…

Something to look forward to in 2015
With Christmas ahead and 2014 already over, this is my last Trance News Roundup this year. The next one will be posted in the beginning of January 2015. And there’s even more to look forward to: Above & Beyond will release their next studio album called “We Are All We Need” in January next year. Which is still a long time for a huge Above & Beyond fan like me – but hey, they at least revealed the album’s tracklist this week via their Twitter account (see screenshot).
