Trance News Roundup (2015/week01)

First things first: Dear readers, I wish you a happy new year! I thought the start into the new year was a good occasion to make this Trance News Roundup some kind of a 2014-summary focusing on articles and links which recapture the last 12 months.

A wonderful Christmas gift by Gabriel & Dresden
How was your Christmas? Did you get many presents or are you somebody who doesn’t give much about materialistic values? Either way, the best Christmas gift 2014 came from Gabriel & Dresden: They’re offering an acapella version of their legendary track “As The Rush Comes” as a free download via their SoundCloud channel. So, go and grab your copy!

Scientific discoveries about music
I discovered this pretty interesting article which sums up 12 findings that scientists made about music last year. To be more specific: It deals with music listeners and musicians – people like you and me. Did you know that music can combat ADHD? Or that music can actually cure tinnitus?

The best Trance tracks of 2014
What was your favorite Trance track of 2014? Chances are good that it is included in one of the following rankings: “The Top 15 Trance tracks of 2014” has been published by the lessthan3 blog, whereas the second ranking titled “10 records that made my year 2014” has been posted on my own blog.

… and the best Essential Mix of 2014 (in my opinion)
So, now that we know the best tracks, it’s time to find out: What was the best DJ mix? I don’t have to think twice about that question! Without a doubt Jordan Suckley provided a memorable “Essential Mix” for BBC Radio 1. Give it a listen (again)!
