Trance News Roundup (2015/week03)

Take your reading glasses, lean back and enjoy: It’s time for another collection of news, facts and links about the Trance scene in particular and the electronic music scene in general. Starring: Dennis Sheperd, Kraftwerk and Laurent Garnier.

Dennis Sheperd needs your help!
Dennis Sheperd plans to release his second artist album titled “Fight Your Fears”. Therefore he needs your help. His intention is to fundraise the money for the production costs via a platform called Pledgemusic. If you want to know how you can support him, check out the video below or head over to the website of Pledgemusic.

An academic conference on Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk are – without a doubt – pioneers of electronic music. Where would dance music be today, if there weren’t such anthems as “The Model”, “We Are The Robots”, “Autobahn” or “Tour De France”? This is why at Aston University they thought it would be a neat idea to give an academic conference only on the subject of Kraftwerk taking place on the 21st and 22nd of January. It’s the first of its kind. And it’s gonna be awesome – I’m sure. All information can be found on the Aston University website.

Laurent Garnier’s bio will be translated
French House legend Laurent Garnier decided to publish an English version of his biography which was available only in French before. It is titled “Electrochoc” and I’m convinced it will deliver some very interesting insights about a very inspiring person. One thing that I remember about him after watching a documentary is the fact that he played truant in his very early years, so that he could practice DJing. Even though this might not be good advice for young people, it is a proof of him being a man who lives his passion.
